Hey Everyone, it's me Maggie,.. sorry I haven 't written sooner, but we have been awfully busy lately,...

My Mom caught me daydreaming the other day when she was outside hanging Christmas lights,.......
What are Christmas lights????

Anyway,.. things are pretty much the same here as when I left in Sept.,....

I do miss Sarah and Rob, the nice people that I went to live with for a little while,....

but I know they are not far away, because everynight when I go to sleep, I lay down on my big feather bed that they bought just for me,......and right before I close my eyes,... I picture their smiling faces that made me feel so good!

A Turn Of Events For Maggie

Things in Life happen for a reason,..for Maggie, these last few months have only been a stepping stone on her journey home.

Rob and Sarah have decided that they cannot give Maggie what she needs to make her life complete. Not saying that they didn't try everything they knew of to make this happen,...but sometimes it just doesn't work.

I said in the beginning ,that if things did not work that Maggie could come back to me,...and we would try to find her a new home,..
Well Maggie is coming back to Us,.. to stay,..Maggie is coming back to Iowa,... to her new and final fur-ever home .

We have had many a setter come thru our doors, while they waited for their furver family to find them,.. and everytime they left, we always had that fleeting thought,.....of
"I wish they could stay"!

There is something Special about Maggie,.. not exactly sure , but I remember seeing it in her eyes, whenever she would be watching me throughout the day,...when she would lift her head out of a dead sleep, and wag her tail as I walked by,...

So this Saturday, 11/11, we will be reunited,... I can't wait to see her again,..

This is my new Mom, and Dad, and Me! I'm finally home! Thank you, everyone at Above and Beyond, and all the nice people who gave me a ride, my foster moms, and of course Sally Mayes, who saw me when I was in trouble, and sick with heart worm, she cared enough to make sure I made it to safety.

She loved the beach! She couldn't stop shaking and her ears were perked up the whole time watching all the birds. She is very interested in birds and squirrels. She definitely has a strong hunting drive. I can't wait to get her to the dog park and let her run.

Guess, what,..? When we finally stopped driving last night, and we came into this nice house
This nice Lady named Sarah, showed me all around the different rooms,... where my very own food and water bowl are kept,.. she showed me my box of new toys,.. and my favorite Chewies,.., and this nice bed,..

Then she sat down on the floor with me, and put a special tag on my collar,..she gave me a kiss on the top of my head and said, "Welcome Home Maggie",......

Maggie was such a joy to transport! She liked to ride shotgun at times. Once we crossed the IN/OH Border, she decided to take a nap.

To her new parents: You have such a great dog coming to you. Take good care of her.

To All,

Transport went GREAT, both girls slept through the whole ride while it rained.

Maggie what a SWEET girl, she would sit right by my feet and look up as to ask where to now. Know she will
be very happy to get to her forever home and her new family are very lucky to get such a sweet wel-behaved
girl.

Mia is a absolute darling little girl, she is just ready for anything and has a wonderful sweet personality.

Mia will be travelling with a harness and a seatbelt restraint. She loves the car but if she sees something interesting on the left she won't hesitate to crawl across the dashboard to take a closer look! I would also recommend attaching the leash to the harness instead of her collar. She pulls like it's going out of style and this will help keep her esophagus intact... She's crate trained ("kennel up") so if you have one don't hesitate to use it. If you don't use the seatbelt restraint please make certain that it gets to the next driver. Maggie hit the road bright and early this morning, from Chamapign, IL.

When I Opened the email I got goose bumps,.. I am so excited for Maggie.

A Note from Driver # 1 Jan:

I just met Maggie and love her to pieces! She is a very good, beautiful, sweet girl.
I wish I could keep her myself. :) She's not causing any trouble at all for Katy.
She growls softly when Uki and Claire come near him, and then they back off and everybody's happy.
She was lying on Katy's bed when I first went over to her house. She immediately (Maggie, not Katy!) put her paw up to shake hands with me!
We took a picture of ourselves with Katy's digital camera. She'll be sending you the picture later this evening. Claire and Uki wanted to be in it, too, so it took a few tries before we got just the right picture. :)

Maggie spent the week in Illinois, before heading East,.....

We got one photo of Jan, Maggie and me - and my
dogs insisted on getting
in the action, being their usual rowdy selves.
Jan's in the aqua shirt
and I'm in the white. Claire's the brindle
shadow to one side of me and
Yuki's the white one trying to entice some one to
play with him.

It went really well with Maggie while she was at
our house; she didn't
want my dogs too close to her, but she mostly
stayed in the same room with
them or else sat out under my spruce tree which
has a ton of birds nesting
in the upper branches.

Before everything gets moving to fast I want to take this time to say a very special Thank You, to a very Special Lady,.. Sally Mayes (right), she made sure my heartworm treatment was taken care of, and I was in good hands, while I waited to get into foster care.

Sally told my foster mom that if no one wanted me, I could come and live with her, she keeps my picture on her shelf,....I'll never forget you Sally!

to all the volunteers at Above and Beyond English Setter Rescue,....you guys saved my life!!

A Few Facts About Maggie

She is a perfect lady in the house,.. not one accident.

She walks very nicely on a leash, likes to ride in the car, and is very nice to cats as well.

Maggie enjoys all the love and attention one could possibly give her, even from little ones, she is as gentle as they come.

She is good with other dogs, and has no issues what so ever.

Maggie is what we call a ready made dog!
